The European Society for Low Vision Research and Rehabilitation (ESLRR) is organizing an online webinar dedicated to one of the most relevant and topical issues in the field of visual rehabilitation: Charles Bonnet Syndrome (CBS).
This initiative takes place during a period of renewal for the Society, which has recently re-elected its Board. Dr Filippo Amore, present Director of the National Centre for Services and Research for the Prevention of Blindness and Visual Rehabilitation—a national and international reference centre in the field of low vision—has been appointed President of ESLRR.
Webinar topic
The webinar, entitled “Can you believe what they see? Latest updates on Charles Bonnet Syndrome”, will be delivered by Dr Jasleen K. Jolly (Associate Professor in Vision Science at the University of Melbourne) and will provide an overview of the most recent developments in the understanding and management of Charles Bonnet Syndrome, a condition characterised by visual hallucinations in people with vision loss.
In recent years, research has made significant advances in understanding the neuropathophysiology of CBS, screening approaches, populations potentially affected, and clinical management strategies, also helping to dispel persistent misconceptions. The aim of the webinar is to highlight new scientific findings and outline potential future developments in visual rehabilitation.
